Chassis body assembly at DRB factory

I got a call today to say my body and chassis were being assembled for delivery soon, so off I went to take some picks. the assembly is going well and will be picked up very soon. my wheels are close to delivery from Image in the UK very soon, I am impressed with there service the closest local manufacturer was ROH with a 16 week lead time and limited range suitable for GT40 application. I have ordered the BRM6 style wheel (see previous picture) I have sold my boat and the deck is clear for an mediate start when I get the body/chassis. I had special gauges made by VDO with white back ground with blue through face illumination. The ADR's require the speedo on the GT40 to show at least 300 kph that makes the speedo a special order.

I will be over in Perth in November and will begin in earnest when I return.
NOW TURN YOUR SOUND UP v8 WITH THE CROSS OVER EXHAUST SYSTEM QUITE DIFFERENT TO A NORMAL v8 SYSTEM.

Now these are Tyres

The Tyres have finally been ordered and arrived as you can see they are monsters. now I can order the rims from the UK We have decided on a set of Image wheels that are replicas of the original BRM wheels that replaced the spoke wheels used by ford.
The rears will be 12" wide and the fronts 8" they are 3 piece wheels and can be ordered up to 15" wide and used extensively by a lot of the racing fraternity especially in the UK and Europe.
The engine transmission unit is well under way and should be finally assembled in in the next week. The exhaust headers came back from the ceramic coater's this afternoon an amazing job and product (pic's as soon as assembled)it is a ceramic aluminium coating that is baked on both the inside and the outside of the tubing then tumbled in a vibrating tumbling bath of ceramic beads and fine abrasive paste, The result looks like chrome and is very heat resistant and durable. reducing engine compartment temperatures and looks great and unlike chrome it does not turn blue and can be re/polished. The Ford XR8 Windsor engine to Porsche G50/50 trans axle mount plate and flywheel have been acquired from DBR and are bountifully machined and fit perfectly using a Porsche 911 Turbo clutch an awesome looking power plant.
