Progress after returning from Perth
With appologies I am still learning to Blogg but here goes.
Well I got my old mate Henry to help me pick up the BCU with a hired trailer, we encountered some difficulty when we arrived home with the work stand I constructed it was a bit on the light side but with some Mods and new wheels it is now serviceable. the first thing I had to do on arrival home was squirrel away all the parts supplied by DRB as we are in quite a small unit I now have parts hiding everywhere. I removed the front and rear body mouldings and have put them out in the weather to cure this is necessary to stabilise the new fibreglass.Well I got my old mate Henry to help me pick up the BCU with a hired trailer, we encountered some difficulty when we arrived home with the work stand I constructed it was a bit on the light side but with some Mods and new wheels it is now serviceable. the first thing I had to do on arrival home was squirrel away all the parts supplied by DRB as we are in quite a small unit I now have parts hiding everywhere. The first Job I did on the BCU was to finish and install the fuel system, Tanks, Filler caps, Scavenge system, fuel gauges, pick ups, Primary Pump, secondary Pump and surge tank return lines and sub frame covers. Then I had Lunch!
The next project was the Air conditioning ducting (yes they are Air Conditioned as they do not have wind up windows) including Windscreen demisters and steering column mount. The under dash evaporator fits quite well but is fiddly to get right.
The wheels have arrived from England and now have the tyres fitted and balanced and look great. (See pic's) . The pedal box arrived complete with master cylinders. and is well on the way to being installed.
I have just discovered that the rack and pinion I obtained by default is the wrong one I managed to pick one up in Sydney so we are underway again with the steering.
My peddle Box arrived from the UK
